Saying Good-bye To An Old Friend!

Today is a sad day cause I have to say good-bye to my Whoopi girl!

I got Whoopi when she was 10 weeks old back in late 1993, I use to live up in Townsville, top end of Australia. It’s extremely hot up there so Whoopi’s favourite place was under the house. She would come out to welcome me home which was adorable of her, she’s always had such a beautiful temprament about her :)

Early 1994 Whoopi and I travelled back down to Melbourne, Victoria in my little beat up Datsun 120y. Long trip for a little car so we stopped at a place called Rockhampton just north of Brisbane, we stayed there in a caravan park till we could afford the rest of the trip down.

Melbourne is much cooler in humidity than Townsville which im sure Whoopi enjoyed. We moved back into Dad’s house for a few months then continued down the cost, west of Victoria in place called Torquay, (Surf capital) for Victoria. While there Whoopi had 9 puppies, I think, It was such a long time ago. She would of been close to 1yr old. She was a great mum! Some of my family adopted her puppies so she was in close contact to them right through out her life, her pups have since gone to Doggie Heaven and now comes the time when I will have to say good-bye to her also. The life I have spent with Whoopi is one I will never forget, she’s been my best friend and always will be.

She has become blind and deaf so there’s been no more licks on the nose to me when she hears “love mum!”. She wont eat anymore and drinks very little, I have to help hold her up and guide her outside so it’s inevitable the time has come that we have to make that last trip to the vets :(

All though it’s sad to say good-bye it’s also sad to see her this way. She has given me a time in my life that I will always cherrish. I have 45mins till I have to take her so I just wanted tell you all a little bit about the best companion that has touched my heart and I will miss her dearly!

Thanks for reading

Anne.
